One way plane ticket from Mississippi to Missouri - $200
Chance to surprise my mom for Christmas with the baby..................PRICELESS!!
Ryan had to sit alert in Houston Christmas Eve and Christmas Day. So, Addison and I flew to my parents home to surprise my mom for Christmas. She had no idea. It was great because for weeks mom was depressed because none of her out-of-town kids were coming home for the holidays. Mom and dad were already planning to drive to our home in Mississippi. So, I bought a one way ticket to Missouri, flew there on the 22nd and rode back with them the 26th. Ryan was home the 26th, too. So, we had Christmas all over again in the south. We had such a great time!!!

Scary Santa ~ 12-06
12-06
Today was the big day to meet Santa. I have been telling Addison all about Mr. Ho Ho Ho. She would get excited when I would show her pictures of him. Well, she did NOT like him one bit in person. The second she sat on his lap she slowly leaned back and looked at his beard. Then, she turned and looked at mommy and daddy with such fear in her eyes. Her little bottom lip turned down and immediately started to quiver. As sad as it was she was actually quite cute. I think this will be her first Santa letter:
Dear Santa,
"I have been a very good girl this year. I try not to fuss too much and mommy and daddy tell me I'm such a good baby. I try not to pull Jetty's tail too hard and I pet her head very gently. I HAVE stopped pulling on her ears. Please come to my house for Christmas and bring some fun toys and maybe some neat books. Just one thing, please don't come near my room. Please stay 500 teddy bears away from me. Ok, maybe 1000 teddy bears away from me. I like to see you from a distance but I will scream as loud as possible if you come anywhere near me. Thank you, Santa. I hope you understand. I love you...not near but from afar. xoxoxo"

Christmas Q&A ~ 12-06
Christmas Q&A
1. Egg Nog or Hot Chocolate?
Definitely Hot Chocolate. I think my brother, Brad, was the only one to drink that Egg Nog stuff at Christmas. Not my cup of tea.
2. Colored lights on tree/house or white?
White, White, and more White
3. Do you hang mistletoe?
Never have but I think I might next year. I always wanted to have one.
4. When do you put your decorations up?
The weekend after Thanksgiving……if motivated enough.
5. What is your favorite holiday dish (excluding dessert)?
Sweet potatoe casserole.
6. Favorite holiday memory as a child?
Just going downstairs at 5 a.m. and seeing that Santa came. The stockings were a lot of fun, too. There was always an orange in them. Crazy!
7. When and how did you learn the truth about Santa?
I’ll never forget it. My brother, Scott, told me walking from the Hot tub room to the garage. I was like, “Oh…really?!?” I was a little shocked but I kind of already knew. He confirmed it for me. It was ok with me because I was a little freaked out by the white bearded man. Santa scared me for some reason.
8. Do you open a gift on Christmas Eve?
Family on the Eve and Santa Christmas Day
9. How do you decorate your Christmas Tree?
Red, Silver, white lights and other ornaments.
10. Snow! Love it or dread it?
Love to look at it but I’d rather be warm. It was fun when I was little. All of us kids had such a ball in our snowsuits making snow angels, snowball fighting and making snowmen. I would like to visit where there’s snow from time to time but I’m happy down here in the south now.
11. Can you ice skate?
I think I’ve skated 5 times in my life and it wasn’t pretty each time. So, I’d have to go with “No”. I can not ice skate.
12. Do you remember your favorite gift?
As a child, it would have to be my kitchen and this orange wheely thing. I don’t know what it was called but I loved riding on it. Oh, and my Holly Hobby sleeping bag. As an adult, my engagement ring.
13. What's the most important thing about the holidays for you?
If able, be with your family. Unfortunately, I’m in the south this year away from my family. But, I have my new little family here. Mom and dad are coming down the 26th. So, it still will be good.
14. What is your favorite holiday dessert?
Anise cookies. My Great Aunt Margaret always bought my mom and me a box of them from the local bakery. She has passed on and now I try to make them myself. They were pretty awful last year but maybe I can get it right one of these years. They’re yummy when they’re right!!!
15. What is your favorite holiday tradition?
Opening gifts and then late night candelight service.
16. What tops your tree?
A really pathetic silver star. It needs to be replaced.
17. Which do you prefer: giving or receiving?
Definitely giving.
18. What is your favorite Christmas Song?
Silent Night
19. Candy Canes! Yuck or yum?
Y-U-M!!!!!! I could eat them all day!! Seriously!
20. What Christmas gift do you hope to find under the tree this season?
A pedicure or massage.
21. Do you say "Merry Christmas" or "Happy Holidays"?
I say Merry Christmas! I know the politically correct thing is “Happy Holidays” but I still say “Merry Christmas”. Oh well. Merry Christmas! Ho Ho Ho

Just what the doctor ordered ~ 12-06
12-06 Addison hasn't felt too well lately. She has had quite the cold for the past week. She was so sad and crying with a runny nose right before she received this gift in the mail! Grandpa Ross felt sorry for her when he heard she was feeling blue. So, he sent her this dolly to make her feel better. As soon as she saw it she smiled so big and reached for her. I had to grab the camera. What a kodak moment! By the way, the dolly's name is "Honey Bunny". We asked Grandpa Ross to name her. Thanks Grandpa!!!

Oh Christmas Tree ~ 12-06
Addison: "Oh, that looks so shiney and pretty"
Jett: "Listen to me kid, I wouldn't touch it if I were you"
Jett: "On second thought....grab it, tear it down, play with it. That's what I would do. Ooohhh, you won't get in trouble, little one" (Jett thinking to herself.....HA HA HA. Let the games begin)

Addison and Ethan ~ 11-06
Addison and her "boyfriend", Ethan Haigler. Ethan is 2 months younger than Addison. This is Thanksgiving day. Our friends, Anne Marie and Ashton, were kind enough to let us crash their Thanksgiving lunch. We had a wonderful time and were glad to be around family even though it wasn't ours. They were so kind and the food was outstanding. :)
